Mitzi has over 15 years of experience in Intellectual Property Law practise, specifically in patents and registered designs. Mitzi deals with the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent and design applications both locally in South Africa and internationally. She has experience in the mechanical and process engineering fields, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, as well as in a general technology field including software application systems and methods. Mitzi also has extensive experience in dealing with African matters, and works closely with agents operating in regional systems such as the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and the Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OAPI). Furthermore, Mitzi is highly experienced in attending to pre-grant and post-grant amendments of patents and patent applications to conform patent claims to South African and/or African practice, including in the pharmaceutical field. Mitzi was a guest lecturer at the Student Symposium of the South African Academy for Science and Arts in 2014.
